The 2024 DIAA Australian Dairy Products Competition awards were presented in May at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne.

There were six South Australian dairy businesses featured in the awards, bringing home a combined 24 gold trophies.

“To be recognised by the industry for producing some of the nation’s finest products, speaks volumes about South Australian processor’s commitment to creating premium, great tasting dairy products,” said Geoff Raven, Dairysafe CEO.

The esteemed awards of excellence celebrate the best in Australian dairy products, with 40 awards bestowed from more than 1,100 entries.

Entry into the competition is subject to all dairy products being made in Australia, complying with national food safety standards specified in the Food Standards Code, and being available for commercial sale.

Award winners excel in the art of dairy craftsmanship across all dairy product classes including soft and hard cheeses, butter, yoghurt, milk and cream, and organic dairy products.

The dairy product competition is based on technical merit and judged by industry experts on flavour and aroma, body and texture, condition, colour, and finish of dairy products.
