A buffalo milk cheese embedded with seasonal flowers has won South Australia’s Kris Lloyd Artisan Cheese first place at the 2024 World Championship Cheese Contest.
Judged in the US state of Wisconsin, the Flower Power cheese took out first place in its class, the Monet cheese achieved third, and the artisan Buffalo Curd fourth.
Speaking to InDaily, Kris said the recognition goes “far beyond a trophy and a medal”, saying events such as the world championship significantly contribute to the international recognition of the brand.
“They cement our position on the world stage, and strengthen our existing export trade opportunities,” Lloyd said. “We’re really keen on growing our export market, so something like this is just really invaluable.”
