As many primary producers experienced their driest season on record, the State Government is investing $8.1 million in new funding to assist farming communities affected by drought across South Australia.
This support is available to all communities in South Australia.
The package has been informed by drought roundtables held across the state and by the SA Drought Advisory Group, which includes representation from key primary industries as well as state, federal and local government.
Visit PIRSA’s drought webpage to apply for the following financial assistance:
- On-farm drought infrastructure rebate scheme: Applications are now open for primary producers to apply for rebates of up to 75% (to a maximum of $5,000 excluding GST) for on-farm drought infrastructure to assist with preparing for and managing drought conditions.
- Connecting Communities events grants: Applications are now open for eligible groups to apply for grants of up to $5000 (excluding GST) to host events that foster social connection, provide community support, or support mental health-related training opportunities.
