The DairySA Innovation Day made a triumphant return to Mount Gambier on Tuesday 2 July, bringing together 170 farmers, industry members and service providers to discuss the future of dairy through innovation.

Keynote speakers and industry experts from interstate and overseas shared their insights on the theme of innovation, focussing on effluent management, improving fertility, smart pastures, and close calf contact among other topics. The conference was followed by the annual dining experience for all delegates.

A highlight of the event was guest speaker and industry advocate Big Farmer Andy. Attendees also heard from consultant and AgCap founder Wolfie Wagner on the Pasture Smarts web application tool, Tasmanian farmer and four-time Dairy Business of the Year winner Grant Archer, and Ellinbank SmartFarms Sharon Aarons. Sharon explored technology that transforms effluent, saves nutrients and cuts emissions.

Big Farmer Andy also joined SA’s Young Dairy Network for a pre-conference evening of story sharing, which provided an excellent opportunity for networking and camaraderie.

Thanks to our speakers, sponsors and farmers for making DairySA 2024 Innovation Day a huge and memorable success.
