Dairysafe and three SA dairy processors are participating in a national pilot of Dairy RegTech, along with Dairy Food Safety Victoria (DFSV), NSW DPI and the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE).

The Dairy RegTech National Pilot is an initiative of the Dairy Export Assurance Program and aims to examine whether the DFSV Dairy RegTech model can be applied at a national level to assist businesses achieve export readiness.

Strong food safety culture is the foundation of Dairy RegTech. The program aims to better employ technology to optimise the capture, analysis and use of food safety data generated by dairy businesses.

RegTech provides a proactive way to monitor food safety compliance, placing a greater focus on both the critical role that employees play in producing safe food and the value of analysing food safety data to obtain meaningful insights.

Regulatory oversight is tailored to a business’ performance and culture rather than a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.

Feedback from Dairy RegTech participants to date has been positive. The national pilot will determine if the approach or a modified approach will work for the dairy industry nationally.
