DairySA presented new speakers and engaging discussions for South Australia’s annual Central Conference on Thursday 21 March.

Held in collaboration with major sponsor La Casa Del Formaggio, the Central Conference drew 150 industry representatives, farmers, and stakeholders to the Adelaide Hills Convention Centre in Hahndorf.

This year’s event featured a diverse line-up of speakers who captivated the audience with thought-provoking presentations on managing high performing teams, farmer fitness, innovative technology, regional weather forecasts and animal health protocols.

Highlights included Dairy Australia Analysis and Insights Manager, Eliza Redfern who engaged delegates with a Market Update and Outlook. A ‘myth busting’ panel captivated the room, with Fleurieu dairy farmers Asher Jacobs, Ben McHugh, Jake Connor and Michael Krichauff discussing automated milking systems on farm and the future of robotics. And ag consultant Jeanette Long provided valuable insights into the delicate balance between family and business management.

Between sessions, farmers also appreciated the opportunity to connect with service providers, including Dairysafe.

This year, as an added bonus, those who came up to the team at the Dairysafe table were offered the opportunity to enter into a raffle for a cool Dairysafe ENGEL esky and temperature probe combo. The prize was won by Ben Klemm from Gum Hill Pastoral dairy at Penrice in the Barossa Valley. The team expects Ben’s milk vat calibration to be spot on at his next audit!
