Dairysafe has announced that nominations are open for the 2022 Dairysafe Food Safety Culture Award.
The award recognises industry champion dairy processing businesses that are embedding food safety within their business culture and is open to all South Australian accredited dairy processors.
“Dairysafe recognises the benefits of positive food safety culture because it’s good for business and helps to deliver safe, high-quality dairy products,” said Geoff Raven, CEO of Dairysafe.
“Businesses that are improving their food safety culture, and those with a mature food safety culture, should be recognised as champion dairy businesses. That’s what this award is all about.”
This is the second year of the important award, with 2021 being the first time an award in Australia recognised food safety culture. In 2021 the award was won by Bega Dairy and Drinks.
Nominations for the 2022 award close at 5pm on Friday 13 May, and three finalists will be announced on Monday 25 July.
The winner receives a $5,000 education, training and development grant and will be announced on 5 August 2022 at the South Australian Dairy Awards Gala Dinner.

The 2022 AWARD
Recognises businesses that have developed their food safety culture, in particular, the business that has made outstanding progress in their food safety culture journey.

Judging AWARD nominations
Nominations will be assessed by a judging panel consisting of representatives from the Dairy Industry Association of Australia (SA Branch), SA Health and the Dairysafe Board. Judging may include a visit to your business and interview with your team.
AWARD nomination timelines
- Nominations for the Award close at 5pm on Friday 13 May.
- Short-listed businesses will be interviewed in June and July.
- Three finalists will be announced on Monday 25 July.
- The winner will be announced at the 2022 South Australian Dairy Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 5 August.
