Dairysafe is seeking expressions of interest for a nationally accredited Food Safety & HACCP Awareness Training workshop to be delivered in Adelaide on 21 August 2026.
Delivered by the Australian Food Training Centre, the one-day program is designed for staff working in food manufacturing, packaging and support roles who need a practical understanding of food safety systems, HACCP principles and their responsibilities under Australia’s food safety standards.
Food safety remains one of the most critical aspects of dairy manufacturing, with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) forming the foundation of effective food safety management systems. This training aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of how food safety programs operate in practice and how they contribute to maintaining product quality, compliance and consumer confidence.
The workshop will cover a range of key topics, including:
- The importance of food safety and regulatory requirements.
- HACCP-based food safety plans.
- Workplace contamination risks, including physical, chemical, microbiological and allergen hazards.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), such as personal hygiene, housekeeping, facility maintenance and product storage.
- Reviewing HACCP programs using the 12 HACCP steps.
- Auditing for compliance.
- Understanding individual and team responsibilities for food safety.
Participants will work through a comprehensive training workbook, video presentations and practical activities designed to reinforce food safety concepts and their application in the workplace. The program encourages attendees to critically examine food safety plans and gain confidence in applying HACCP principles within their own operations.
Upon successful completion of both the theory assessment and a workplace practical observation, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the units ‘Apply good manufacturing practice requirements in food processing’ and ‘Participate in a HACCP team’ from the Certificate III in Food Processing.
