A huge congratulations to the South Australian cheese producers who had success on the global stage at the International Cheese Awards in July.

The International Cheese Awards is the world’s largest annual cheese show and competition, held each year at Dorfold Park near Nantwich, England. Held since 1897, the show attracts entries from around the world.

The South Australian companies among the winners were:

Buffalo Milk (any cheese, soft or hard; open to UK and non-UK producers)

  • GOLD: Woodside Cheese Wrights – Picasso Buffalo semi-hard with Australian Native Pepper GOLD

Best Australian Cheese – cheddar mild; open to cheese produced in Australia

  • GOLD:  Beston Global

Best Australian Cheese – any cheese with additives; open to cheese produced in Australia

  • GOLD: Woodside Cheese Wrights – Kris Lloyd Artisan Anthill Goat Cheese

Best Australian Cheese – any variety not in the above classes; open to cheese produced in Australia

  • GOLD: Section 28 Artisan Cheeses ­– Tomme du Vallee (6mth, raw, cooked curd, pressed)
  • SILVER: Section 28 Artisan Cheeses – Mt Priscilla (3mth, past. Cooked curd, pressed)
  • BRONZE: Section 28 Artisan Cheeses – Monforte (9mth, raw milk, cooked curd, pressed)
